For over 30 years, we have been learning how to integrate sustainability into our everyday business. Since 2013, this strategy has been The Positive Cup: a strategy that aims to not only reduce negative impacts but also to generate positive impacts across our value chain.
It is these positive impacts that reinforce our belief that coffee can be a force for good.
AT A GLANCE
Overall, we are largely on track to achieve our key goals. Most notably, sourcing towards 100% of our permanent coffees through the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, increasing the rate of recycled capsules, and delivering climate actions that mitigate our global GHG emissions and adapt coffee farming communities. In short, we remain committed to our investment plan and the integration of sustainability into our operations.
Yet, the delay observed for transformative initiatives such as ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative), and delivering a complete recycling capacity, emphasise that further engagement is still needed with key stakeholders (corporations and public authorities) in our value chain. Clearly, systemic transformation takes time. But our drive remains to keep challenging the status quo.

IN DETAIL: OUR LATEST CSV REPORT
In our 2019 report, you will find the tangible actions taken behind these achievements as well as the highlights of the year, such as the widening of our recycling infrastructures in France and Switzerland, and consumer engagement initiatives designed to encourage recycling and raise awareness of what sustainable sourcing really means.
REPORTING ACCORDING TO RECOGNISED SUSTAINABILITY GUIDELINES
Back in 2017 we published the 2016 Creating Shared Value Report – our first ever sustainability report developed in accordance with the GRI’s G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. An update is published each year, outlining the key developments and progress against our ambitions and goals for 2020.
